The project 1st ever building in Surat to get Pre-certified Platinum Certificate from Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) offers Apartment with perfect combination of contemporary architecture and features to provide comfortable living. The project is spread over a total area of 0.64 acres of land. It has 65% of open space. White Wings Torrance has 2 towers. The construction is of 13 floors. An accommodation of 52 units has been provided.

About the Company

White Wings Group (WWG) is a unique name that has developed luxurious Residence, Commercial as well as done land development in the Surat city and its surroundings. The group has experience of more than a decade in the construction area with timely innovations, meticulous planning, constant updating of Methodologies and acquisition of the latest equipment and infrastructural techniques. WWG appointed ESSACT project management as their Project management consultant to handle all the construction aspect of project, they use digiQC for quality control.

The Problem
  1. Project engineer accountability cannot be setup in paper-based system.
  2. Concern regarding quality data as manipulation of data is possible in paper based system.
  3. Quality control documentation and reporting took too much time as project engineer must go to site office, scan the documents, and mail it to higher authority.
  4. In some cases, quality lapse could not be known to higher authority and decision where taken without consulting right person.
  5. Also root cause analysis was not possible due to paper based system.
  6. Photographic record of quality documentation where not available.
The Solution
  1. Accountability of project’s engineer were set through checklist authorization.
  2. Higher management where made project admin so that they can review the project and can get instant notification in case of quality lapse.
  3. Project based checklist as per specification were made to capture systematic quality data.
  4. Pulse (customized mail notification) were set for higher authority for overall review.
  5. Cloud based data in searchable format make data retrieval easy and convenient.
  6. Compulsory photo were made in certain checklist point to get authentic data from site.

Example
  1. Client suggested for the minor modification in the Toilet area which require breaking of tiles and brick chiseling for new piping route.
  2. Quality data for that toilet was retrieved from digiQC web platform and was use for analysis. The photographic data gave the route of previous piping details.
  3. Based on that data decision making was done and new modification were planned.
  4. This was later executed on site which not only allowed to used old pipe but also modification was done with least demolition.
Conclusion

Decision making was better and faster due to available of searchable quality data. Also, higher authority was sent instant notification in case of quality lapse. Authorization through digiQC increased accountability which in turn improved the project quality.

Due to instant notification to management team, their was reduction in decision making time by 50% in compared to our conventional process of reporting.

Saved almost 90% of time in quality data retrieval as everything was available through search and filter feature in web module.
